  • Welcome to Medina Yard in 2008

    January 3. 2008

As 2008 dawns chilly and bleak we are yet again genuinely excited at the prospect of having a busy year helping to share the load along the banks of the Medina River for ashore-berthing and boat lifting services. The yard is full of boats being stored ashore, whilst there is still an area we have allocated for short term stays and emergency lifts. The availability of the 60 tonne capacity hoist for the bigger vessel is a good feature of the Yard, however we are keen to point out hat we accord the same quality and attention to all the vessels we attend to
South Boats are a tenant on the site and they continue to thrive and expand, they now have an order book full until 2010.....
  • Clocks have gone back!

    October 31. 2007

The good weather is still with us here in the South and the sailing season is stretching out keeping boats afloat to make the most of the mild weather. We are still on our first bag of charcoal for our little stove on board Sabrina. It is the end of October and there are already over 60 boats ashore, and a steady stream of enquiries for boats to come out between now and Christmas. We are confident as we have become more experienced with managing the space for boats that we will be able to satisfy demand and still be able to launch the boats as and when required. A feature that has become apparent is that most owners are not bringng their boats out for as long as the traditional six months, so we have incorporated this shift into our package
So if you are interested in coming ashore with us please get in touch....
  • Ed Stevens

    October 3. 2007

Ed Stevens was involved at the Medina Yard from its very inception, and was fundamental to its success. he almost singlehandedly kept the standards high and managed a punishing work schedule with long days with commuting. He has a job on the mainland working for the RYA within minutes of his new home with his partner Fran and their Cats.

We are coping but miss him.
  • Another Summer has Gone

    October 3. 2007

The yard has been really busy during the summer offering support services to many of the major regattas held in Cowes during 2007. We were also really proud to be associated with the build/launch and completion of the Open 60 'Estrella Damm' for Offshore Challenges.
  • WINTER STORAGE CAPACITY is filling fast

    October 4. 2006

It has been two years and our regular customers are aware how busy we become for storing boats over the winter. Last year we were storing 130 vessels of various sizes, from 18ft to 68ft. The Medina Yard is fortunate in having undercover facilities to cope with a variety of vessels (currently Ellen's 75ft tri-maran is having a re-fit inside). ANY BOATS LOOKING FOR STORAGE ASHORE PLEASE CONTACT US AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOR US TO MANAGE THE DEMAND
